Georgette Verdin

Georgette serves as chief people officer of Mariana Oncology. Before joining Mariana, Georgette served as Chief Human Resources Officer at AVROBIO (NASDAQ: AVRO), a lentiviral gene therapy company based in Cambridge, MA, where she was responsible for leading the development, implementation, and alignment of the people strategy.

Prior to AVROBIO Georgette worked at Novartis’ Institute Biomedical Research working closely with scientific leaders. Her focus was on co crafting the talent management and people development agenda and leading its execution in support of the institution’s goals of expanding its therapeutic pipeline, across Europe, Asia, and the US.  Georgette brings 20+ years’ experience to the Human Resources discipline honing her knowledge and skills through various leadership roles. She has lived and worked in Europe, Asia and in Latin America, across multiple industries including software engineering, manufacturing and in life sciences. Georgette holds an undergraduate agree in History from Georgetown University and a Master’s degree in international relations from The American University in Washington, DC.  She serves on the board of a nonprofit, Next Generation Investment, which works with local schools in rural Tanzania.
